It is the correct width for denim belt loops — narrow belts look lost in them. The buckle is solid brass throughout — the same specification as the 30mm, scaled in proportion to the wider belt. At 40mm, the hardware has more visual presence. The finish choice matters more, because it's more visible.

• Nickel-Coated Solid Brass — Clean silver tone over solid brass. Versatile across outfit palettes. A contemporary alternative that holds its colour consistently.
• PVD Black Solid Brass — Vacuum-bonded matte black coating over solid brass. Harder and more wear-resistant than conventional plating. At 40mm, the black hardware against a tan or dark brown leather belt is one of the sharpest combinations in the range.
